Volunteer Opportunities: Yes, we host many fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the Life Center. We are always in need of talented volunteers to run programs such as art projects, craft night, ect. Most importantly, we are ALWAYS in need of volunteers to assist with transportation needs of our residents to work, the grocery store, appointments, ect.

Volunteer Opportunities: Yes, but because of confidentiality we do not allow High School students to help in the shelter. They can help with community events such as table and community events. These take place outside of the shelter.

Volunteer Opportunities: Yes, we offer volunteer opportunities for In Your Shoes participants. As a condition of funding, each student must complete 10 hours volunteer work in the community. So, if they need their hours they can do them with IYS.

In Your Shoes provides funding for registration fees and any necessary equipment. Our office is located in the rear alley behind the First Baptist Church on the corner of Church and Vesper Streets. Volunteer Opportunities: Yes, there are many ways to volunteer at the Heisey Museum.
Senior Project Opportunities: Yes, tour guides; we have a “script” to help learn about our collection when school groups visit, Cleaning; we have volunteers to help with dusting vacuuming and washing, Gardens; we have volunteers to help plan and maintain a small vegetable garden, our herb garden and a “wildflower” meadow. Also we plan approximately 6 fundraising events throughout the year, these include a house tour, garden/ kitchen tour, yard sale, spaghetti dinner, Mardi Gras, plus several smaller ones. Volunteers help with planning and arrangements.

With volunteers we are able to maintain a strong presence in the community through our programs and services, as well as collect and preserve artifacts. Volunteer Opportunities: Yes, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities. The biggest thing, which encompasses nine months of work, is preparing for our Labor Day Regatta. Other opportunities include: Radio Auction, which occurs the last Saturday of March for the past 44 years. Preparations start in early February by going to area businesses asking for donations to be auctioned off on the radio.
Easter Egg Hunt: Normally held the day before Palm Sunday. Unfortunately, we have limited finances and have not been able to hold this the past two years.
Easter Dinner: Held on Palm Sunday. Preparations include obtaining reservations at the Clinton County Community Center for the meal, 65 max in each sitting room (noon and 2 pm); ordering and purchasing the food in the two weeks prior; setting up the Jaycee Hall the night before; and preparing the food and serving approximately 200 people (including take-outs) during the event and clean-up afterward.
Summer Concert Series: Purchasing and cooking food to serve to people who attend the summer concert series each Sunday from mid-June to the Sunday the week before Labor Day Weekend.
Holiday Senior Dinner: Held between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day (Dec. 14 this year). Preparations include obtaining reservations at the Clinton County Community Center for the meal, 65 max in each sitting (noon and 2pm); ordering and purchasing the food in the two weeks prior; setting up the Jaycee Hall the night before; and preparing the food and serving approximately 200 people (including take-outs) during the event and clean-up afterwards.
Senior Project Opportunities: YES, the highest need would be new fundraising opportunities.
Do volunteers need special clearances? Yes, we will not accept those who have been convicted of a felony or of theft.
