United Way’s Sports Night and Fine Arts Auction is Friday

LOCK HAVEN — It’s almost here.

Things are starting to come together for the Clinton County United Way’s Eighth annual Sports Night and Fine Arts Auction, which will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven.

Former professional baseball player and Clinton County native Joe Caruso will be honored at the event.

Tickets are $40 and are still available.

“The response has been very good,” said United Way Executive Director Maria Garlick. “We’re going to have more than 200 people.”

Tickets include food, beer and wine. There will be a 50/50 drawing, live and silent auctions.

“We have some pretty awesome packages this year. Those will be both live and silent. We focused more on groupings and packages this year instead of individual items,” Garlick said.

DJ “Chet the Jet” Chester Rogers will provide music. It’s also casino night. There will be three table games and although there won’t be a cash payout at the gambling tables, chips will be used to enter raffles for a grand prize drawing.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the United Way offices in the Garden Building, 232 E. Main St. or from a United Way board member. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on Friday night. For more information, call the United Way at (570) 748-7856.
